Zoe's work explores urban scenes and architecture, using illustration to capture moments in time. She has a range of primarily one-off original ink illustrations or watercolours that depict scenes of where she happens to be. This can range from sketches of markets, gigs, events, bars and scenes from her personal life.
Zoe has a background in graphic and digital design, and has always had a passion for drawing. In 2018 she decided to develop her practice and feature urban sketching scenes, capturing the city environments she explored through ink.
Zoe is continuing her hospitality series, which focuses on illustrating cafe and bar venues from around Aotearoa. The pandemic gave her renewed appreciation for the venues we may have missed, and the people working in these locations.
Zoe is a PhD candidate and User Experience Researcher at the Human Interface Technology Lab, where she explores game-based approaches for youth social anxiety. Get in touch if you're keen to hear more!
