Olivia loves creating all sorts of things from sewing to basket weaving and printing. She is inspired by fabrics and nature and this is noticeable in her work. Olivia has a focus on sustainable practices and uses cast off materials where suitable, shirts are created from old table cloths, tī kōuka/cabbage tree leaves are woven into light shades. Her lino and wood block printing depict New Zealand endemic species, the littles critters who are not often in the spotlight.
Olivia has always loved making things and continuously explores new mediums. She finds the process of making to be calming and enjoys learning as she goes. Olivia is working on some new patterns for jackets and would like to try repurposing denim.
She's also weaving light shades for some vintage standard lamps.
When not creating, Olivia is working in production at a New Zealand made outdoor clothing company. She loves being outdoors, walking her dog, camping, snorkeling or finding that last drop of sunshine.
